Mendon Community Christmas Walk, Dec. 4 & 5, 2009 at the Historic Mendon Town Hall. This year's festival of trees will consist of 80 plus decorated Christmas Trees inside the Town Hall. 3 Mendon Homes will be featured Fri. & Sat. evenings. Both downtown churches on Saturday afternoon will be open from 1-5 p.m. with displays. Jim's Harley-Davidson Museum will be again be open to display many vintage Harley motorcycles, and memorabilia. Jim Shaffer Realty will again be sponsoring the Horse and Carriage Rides on Saturday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in front of the Town Hall. Take a step back in time, and enjoy a horse drawn carriage ride with your family, as many families did a hundred years ago, when horses were the main way of transportation around Mendon. Hear the clippity-clop of the horseshoes hitting the streets as your Western dressed Cowboy takes you on a tour of Mendon. (The picture above, is from last years carriage rides). The carriage rides are free to all festival goers, and is sponsored by Jim Shaffer Realty in appreciation for the many who let us list and sell their homes in Mendon & Union Twp. It's our way of saying "Thanks". Santa will be in his house across from the Town Hall Saturday afternoon. At 6:30 p.m. there will be a buffet style dinner catered in by Harlan's Catering of Pandora, Ohio. The buffet dinner consists of Roast Beef, Boneless Pork Loin, Baked Potato w/ Sour Cream, Mixed Vegetables, Tossed Salad, Homemade Bread, Pie, & Coffee. Musical Entertainment will be performed by Steve & Maria Gardner of Ft. Wayne, Ind. Steve & Maria have compiled sixteen albums, and have been heard on more than 500 Radio Stations around the world. They have had over a thousand T.V. appearances, and have sung in four different continents. The Dinner Theatre will be held at the Old Farm Store located on Main St. The cost of the meal and entertainment is by reservation only and is $25.00 per couple, or $12.50 per single. The meal will be catered by Harlans Catering, of Pandora, Ohio.
